Laurie Jo Jensen has been painting and sculpting horses and other animals for over 30 years. Laurie Jo Jensen's lifelong love of horses is evident in her unique equine art. Since 1969, her work has been sought by collectors world-wide. Her distinctive style of paint and design ensures that each piece possesses lifelike individuality and expression.
The artist has owned and shown horses all her life. An avid rider, she has competed in a variety of equestrian disciplines: Hunters, Combined Training, Saddleseat, Dressage, Western Equitation, Trail and even Barrel Racing. In 1975, she rode her way to a scholarship and attended Cal Poly University, Pomona, graduating in 1980.
Laurie Jo has been an instructor, designer and consultant for The Peter Stone Company and Breyer Reeves. Her realistic renderings exist in collections in the United State, Great Britain, Germany, Sweden, Canada, and Australia. Mrs. Jensen's sculptures are created with a ceramic-based epoxy applied in layers over a wire armature. Mrs. Jensen strives for conformation and color correctness in her art.
